Introducción

Hello!

Today I'm writing in this journal to announce an event, which give its debut today, it is: The first W.L. Piers Nivans Contest!!!

All we appreciate the young sniper of the BSAA. Me too, and these last days, I was missing him a lot, because after 8 months, there are not any news about him and the future of Resident Evil yet. So, I say myself, I'm going to join to a contest!

to be encouraged for make a new render of Piers Nivans,
to can see new pieces of fan arts,
and to do my silly chats commenting some things here and there.

Anything, to can see and feel my hero alive a bit more. But I didn't found a contest active at this moment... End of May, the scholar courses are finishing in a lot of countries, and June exams are coming.  So maybe it's not the best moment to open a contest... or maybe yes!! to leave a place for rest and unstressed here, and also, if  anyone is missing him too. I expect he finds this contest entertaining to enjoy  with our dear Piers. That's why we, on W.L. Piers Nivans have started our own contest.


Topic

That's great, I know, but the great question is, what's the contest about? well, our contests in this group will be focus mainly in Piers, and about the topic, it may vary in future contest according to the feedback. But for this first contest:




So "Piers and his Rifle", that's mean, in this first edition, those who want participate, will have to send us a graphic fan art where appears at least Piers Nivans and a rifle. That's the requirement.

Piers can be shooting with his rifle, posing or even sleeping in pyjama with the weapon as if it were a teddy bear. In addition, it can be added more characters, or enemies if the author wants. Will be Piers saving a lady with an accurate shoot or will be looking for it while a mischievous Chris is laughing with it in a corner?.  Let's leave that up to participants.

Prizes

The prize? The friendly love of the fan community and the joy of have dedicated your time to complete a project of a great character as Piers Nivans. But to have a prize a bit more defined, I'll present the three Pieresu awards.



The Golden Pieresu - The Silver Pieresu - The Bronze Pieresu

These three figures, are in .OBJ format, they are statics, and can be used in programs as XNALara, Blender, or 3d Studio Max.
In addition, will be regarded also 2 renders of the figures without background. with a front and back view.

The prizes, will be release for public use, but only, once the contest were finished:

As you can see, their plates have a gap, that's because the name of the winners, are needed to complete them!  Those participants who achieve more votes in their entries, will be the members whose nicks will complete the Pieresus's plates.

So, once the Pieresus were completed, they will be released.


Rules

As every community, there are also some rules to follow for one reason or other, summarising, the rules are the next:

1- Each participant, will have to be registered on Deviantart and in the group to can send us the fan art.
2- Each participant can send up to 2 fan arts, in case that his two pieces obtain a victory in votes, only 1 prize will be dedicated to the author (the one of higher rank) and the second prize, will be dedicated to the participant next to him in votes.
3- In case of tie. The admin group will have the last word.
4- The fan art, must be sent to the group WeLovePiersNivans  , in the folder dedicated to the contest ([link] , before the 23:59 of the day of closure.

5- The fan art must include the requirements of the topic and the participant will have to be the author of that fan art, of in its defect, demonstrate that he has the permision of the original author.
6- The fan art won't be defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, obscene, harmful to minors, violations of child pornography or child sexual exploitation laws,  about what it consider as pornographic content, these next link will explain some : [link]

7- During the voting process, everyone has right to vote, whether if they are members of the group or not.
8- Only will be possible vote once time per each IP address, so siblings and roommates will have to agree before to vote.
9- If there are 10 fan arts or less, voters will can vote 1 piece,  if there are 11 fan arts or more, voters will can vote 2 pieces.
10- If after the closure date, there are only 3 participants or least, the contest will be consider null, and not winners will be selected.

Proccess

The contest is considered opened now, 30/May/2013. So entries are accepted.

When the fan art is sent to the folder, it will have to be accepted by an admin member who will check it that piece doesn't break any rule, if it does, it will be notified to the author with a comment in the same submit, denying the self. if everything is ok, it will be accepted without any other inconvenient.

The closure day is 21/June/2013, So entries can be accepted in that day inclusive.

The Monday 24/June/2013, will be made the Poll to vote for the favourite fan art.
The Saturday 29/June/2013, will be the last day dedicated to votes.

Between the Sunday 30/June/2013 and the Monday 1/July/2013, will be announced the winners and the prizes will be released.






So that's all, I wish you were excited for this and we'll wait happily your entries: graphical fan art, they can be drawn with pencils, water paints, with tablet, or be a render of XNALara, GMod, 3ds max, etc, or be a photo of a cosplay, or a photomanipulation, wallpapers, sticks, legos, etc...  It will be fun collect all those fan arts of Piers with his rifle!

FAQ

If you have any doubt, feel free to comment this journal to ask, through the days, we will going updating this FAQ too if were needed.


Q1- Must the entry be a new entry?
A -No, it doesn't need be new fan art to be sent into this contest, if you have an old fan art and want send it to the contest, you can do it. Just mention a special case, if that fan art, is already sent into the WeLovePiersNivans group, please, send us a note with a link of the deviant to move that deviant, instead of delete it and re-send it again.

Q2- Must I add credits in the deviation?
A - Preferibly yes. It's understood that sometimes, write the correct credits can be difficult because some sources are lost through the time, or the asset which you used, were not well documented so it made more difficult discover the source, but despise of those akwards, It's strongly recommended to add the respective credits which were needed to make your fan art, think on it as if that were a way to show your gratitude toward the author of that asset which you found helpful.

If a Deviant don't bring credits, we are not going to deny it, but if any author recognize any of their assets and ask you please to give him credit, then please, do it, if despise of it, the deviant keep still without give credits, then yes we could move the fan art out of the group in order to avoid a mayor discomfort. The goal of the group is full of good intentions, we won't sacrifice them for the lack of some credits.
